Breaking! Oredo Reps Race: Phil Esokpunwu withdraws, declares support for Iyamu
Former aspirant for the Oredo Federal House of Representatives seat, Hon. Phil Osa Esokpunwu, has officially withdrawn from the race and declared her support for fellow All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, Dr. Paddy Iyamu.
In a statement announcing her decision, Esokpunwu expressed gratitude to APC leaders, party executives, supporters, and members in Oredo Local Government Area for what she described as their overwhelming support throughout her political aspiration.
She called on party faithfuls to maintain unity within the APC and extend the same level of support to Dr. Paddy Iyamu in the interest of the party and the constituency.
According to her, Paddy Iyamu possesses “remarkable and outstanding qualities” required for the position and would provide effective representation for the people of Oredo Federal Constituency if elected.
“I have no doubt in my mind that Oredo Federal Constituency will have the best representation,” Esokpunwu stated.
The former aspirant also commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for what she described as his untiring efforts in advancing the progress and unity of the APC in the state.
Reaffirming her loyalty to the party, Esokpunwu stressed that “the party is supreme” and pledged to work for the success of Paddy Iyamu’s aspiration for the House of Representatives seat.
The development is expected to strengthen support for Paddy Iyamu within the APC ahead of the party’s primaries for the Oredo Federal Constituency contest.
