Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost, OSA, has been elected as the new Bishop of Rome, and has taken the name Pope Leo XIV.

Reacting, the ‘excited’ President of the United States of America (USA), Mr. Donald Trump described it as a “… great honor for our country”.
President Trump via a post on his verified social media handles said “Congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who was just named Pope. It is such an honor to realize that he is the first American Pope.
What excitement, and what a Great Honor for our Country. I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be a very meaningful moment!”
