…PDP is bouncing back – FCT Minister
A faction of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) backed by Chief Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has re-elected Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman of the party. Also re-elected is Sen Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary.
Mohammed, Anyanwu and others emerged through a consensus arrangement on Sunday, March 29, 2026, during the elective national convention held at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Chief Nyesom Wike boasted that the PDP would come back stronger.
The former Rivers state governor also took a swipe at governors and other key leaders of the party who decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, maintaining that they left because they lacked the capacity to manage crisis.
Wike emphasized that all the defectors who were elected on the PDP platform but left the party to another, would have to forfeit the mandates which were given to them while they were in the party.
