…emerges UCL highest goal scorer
Nigerian star, Victor Osimhen last night, recorded a superlative performance, scoring a stunning hat-trick as Galatasaray defeated Ajax 3–0 in the Champions League.
By his goal yesterday in Amsterdam, the Super Eagles striker has now scored in every UCL game he has played this season with six goals in three matches, overtaking the likes of Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane in the scoring charts.
Osimhen also surpassed Obafemi Martins to become Nigeria’s all-time top scorer in European competitions with 25 goals.
For Galatasaray, it was a record-breaking evening: their best-ever start to a Champions League campaign and the first UCL hat-trick by a player since 2012.
Football enthusiasts have described Osimhen as a true Nigerian masterclass currently plying his trade on the European soil.
