Meet Lieutenant Colonel (Professor) Abubakar Surajo Imam, the first-ever Nigerian Army personnel to attain the rank of Professor.
An indigene of Kankia LGA, Katsina State, Prof Imam is not just a soldier and scholar. He is a builder of systems, ideas, and national solutions.
With a BSc in Mechanical Engineering (BUK), MSc in Mechatronics, and a PhD in Mechatronics and Robotics from Newcastle University, UK, he has combined military discipline with deep academic excellence. Today, he serves at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) as Head, Department of Mechatronics Engineering and Director, Centre for Innovation and Creativity (CINOCRE).
