…as Chapter Chairman cautions troublemakers

Hon Clement Awakessien, PhD, has charged members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Nsit Ibom local government area on the need to support anything that would encourage peaceful coexistence ahead of the imminent influx of defectors into the party.
Dr. Awakessien who is also the APC State Youth Leader, gave the charge last Friday at his hometown, Ikot Obio Asanga during his public presentation and investiture as the APC Political Leader in Nsit Ibom LGA.
“I want to thank the chapter Chairman, his executives, all the Ward Chairmen, stakeholders and stalwarts of our great Party, the APC in Nsit Ibom, for the confidence reposed in me by appointing me as the Political Leader” Dr Awakessien said adding that “one thing I can assure you is that you will never regret this action”.
He used the occasion to appreciate the teeming members of the party in the area for their steadfastness, assuring them that the time to reap had come.
“You have over the years, shown steadfastness as members of the APC.The time to reap is now. That’s why I would advise that we should all avoid any rancour, but support every move that would bring peace in our party
It is no longer news that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno would be joining our great Party anytime from now. The antecedent of the governor has shown that he is a man of peace. Therefore, we must keep our house in order”.
Earlier in his speech, the APC Chapter Chairman in Nsit Ibom, Hon. Emmanuel Jimmy stressed that the emergence of Dr. Clement Awakessien was in line with the relevant provisions of the party’s constitution.
The Chapter Chairman further warned those he described as ‘troublemakers’, whom he said were bent on causing trouble in the party, to refrain forthwith. He hinted that he would not hesitate to invoke the necessary provisions of the party’s constitution in disciplining the defaulting members, no matter how highly placed.
In his goodwill message, the State Chairman of the APC National Youth Caucus, NYC, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Comrade Victor Sunday Etim, congratulated Dr. Awakessien on his emergence as the Political Leader and pledged the support of the Caucus to him.
Others who spoke during the well-attended event included the 2023 APC Candidate for Nsit Ibom State Constituency, Mr. Nathaniel Ottio, amongst others.
Also in attendance were all the APC Chapter executives, all Ward Chairmen and executives, stakeholders and Ward Leaders of the party in Nsit Ibom LGA.
