Supporters of the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi have rounded off weeklong activities marking his 64th birthday anniversary celebrations with a call on Nigerians to emulate the sterling virtues of service to humanity of the former Anambra state governor.

The call was handed down on Saturday, 19th July, 2025 at the Birthday Party organized by the Obidient Movement, Akwa Ibom State Chapter in honour of their principal, Mr. Peter Obi.

Speaking at the Grand Finale held at #58 Bennett Bassey Avenue, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, the State Coordinator; Dr Ben Smith while extolling Mr. Peter Obi’s selflessness, stressed that Nigeria wouldn’t have been where she was if their Principal was elected as President in 2023.

Hear him: “Today, we gather here to celebrate the birthday anniversary of a man whose selflessness resonate within and beyond the shores of Nigeria.

His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi’s record of service to humanity was topical, and this was loud enough during the 2023 presidential election. The support was massive and unprecedented.
But, unfortunately, the collective will of the people was truncated and today, Nigerians are suffering this avoidable economic calamity”.

Also speaking, the host, Capt. Augustine Okon who is also the South-south Regional Advisor of the Obidient Movement called on Nigerians to get ready for the needed change, come 2027.

He said: “The campaigns have not started yet. But we all must get set for the change that we all desire. 2027 is the year that all of us will take our destinies in our hands.

Whether Labour Party, PDP, ADC or whichever political party that would give our Principal, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi the presidential ticket, we will all support the party and ensure that he emerges as president. It is presidency and nothing else”.

On his part, the Director of Mobilization, Promise Mbakara said the Obidient Movement’s choice of humanitarian services to mark Mr Peter Obi’s 64th birthday anniversary celebrations was in tune with the former Anambra governor’s belief in selfless service.

“What we’re witnessing today is the grand finale of a weeklong event. Just few days ago, we were at the Ikot Ekpene Correctional Centre to pay for the release of inmates who were earlier granted bail but were not released because they couldn’t pay their prescribed fines.

I want to announce to you all here that in the spirit of the 64th birthday anniversary celebrations of our Principal, the Obidient Family in Akwa Ibom State have cleared all the fines.

On Thursday, we were at the Ibom Plaza for our Free Street Haircut. During the programme, so many people had their haircut, free of charge.

Just yesterday Friday also, we were at the Band of Hope Orphanage, Okon-Eket in Eket local government area, where we ate and drank with the children in celebration of our Principal’s birthday.

So far, our activities have covered the three Senatorial Districts of Akwa Ibom State and many lives have been touched. All of these are executed from the funds from freewill donations of the members of the Obidient Movement in Akwa Ibom State.

We are poised to doing more and rendering these services. This is the hallmark of our principal, the man we have all gathered today to celebrate”.

Highlights of the grand finale were cutting of birthday cake, rendition of goodwill messages, merriments and lots more.
