Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, was among the progressives governors who attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus meeting on Thursday evening at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The governor was spotted alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and several prominent party leaders during the high-level gathering.
This marks one of Governor Fubara’s first major appearances at an APC national event following his recent defection to the ruling party.
Meanwhile, the ruling APC has so far surpassed the number of governors recorded by the the former rulling (now opposition) party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as at 2003
Currently, statistics show the APC taking over the entire South-south region which hitherto was the PDP’s stronghold.
The states in the South-south governed by the APC as at today, December 19, 2023 are Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivers.
The North-central states are Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger and Plateau.
Out of the seven states in the Northwest, 5 states governed by the APC are Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto.
The Southwest home of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu where the now ruling APC is generally credited to having its originating base, now has four states including Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun and Ondo
The APC has the following states in the North-east: Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states.
In the Southeast, the APC has Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states.
With a total of 28 out of 36 states, the APC has surpassed PDP’s record of 27/36 which it had in 2003.
