Sowore accuses Nigeria Police of stealing his N855k AI-powered eyeglasses

…submits formal petition

2023 presidential candidate of the AAC and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr Omoyele Sowore has formally submitted a petition to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in which he accused its personnel of allegedly stealing his AI-powered eyeglasses.

According to Sowore, the eyeglasses were forcefully snatched from him during the protest staged by retired police officers in Nigeria on Monday.

Sowore in a statement said “Yesterday, I visited the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters as well as the offices of the FCID in Abuja to formally submit a petition prepared by our ebullient attorney, Tope Temokun of TOPE TEMOKUN CHAMBERS, LAGOS, demanding an investigation, prosecution, and the return of my stolen Ray-Ban AI-powered eyeglasses, which were forcefully snatched by a staff member of the Force Public Relations Office, under instructions of ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi”.

The activist in the statement also accused the police authorities of applying what he termed “unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles”, instead of supplying the the culprit and the accomplices.

“This is not just about stolen property; it is a matter of criminal conduct by senior police officers and their accomplices.

It has now been confirmed that Aku Victor Chiemerie carried out this act on direct instruction by ACP Muyiwa Adejobi during Monday’s historic #PoliceProtest.

Shockingly, this morning, the FCID leadership informed me that I must submit my petition to the DPO of the Federal Secretariat Police Station in Abuja, an unnecessary bureaucratic hurdle intended to delay and subvert the swift bringing of the suspect and his accomplices to justice.

If this were a cybercrime petition against a powerful politician, a wealthy businessman, a celebrity pastor, or a Nollywood star, the police would act immediately; they’d arrest the suspect, fly them to Abuja, and parade them before the media. The struggle to liberate Nigeria is unstoppable”, Sowore noted.

Meanwhile, available information indicated that the eyeglasses worth about N855, 000.00 with the following enabling features:
