Tinubu’s built dams, infrastructure in the North – Northern Elders told 

 

Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Engr Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev and other key political appointees from Northern Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration at a two day interactive session on Government -Citizens engagement held at Arewa House in Kaduna.

Professor Utsev who rolled out the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration in the water and sanitation sector particularly said the administration has within two years,completed and inaugurated three dams in the northern Nigeria and were being used for irrigation farming to achieve food security.

Some of the dams according to Professor Utsev include Rafin Yashin multipurpose dam in Niger State,Amla dam in Otukpo, Benue State and Odo-Ape dam in Kaba Buni,Kogi State.

Professor Utsev also informed the Northern delegates at the session that, out of the twelve River Basin Development Authorities in the country, seven were situated in the north with all its managements appointed from the region.

He explained that several water and sanitation projects were being carried out in virtually all the nineteen northern states including the ongoing upgrade and rehabilitation of Alau Dam in Borno State.

The Minister appealed to the good people of northern Nigeria to continue to support the good policies and programmes of President Tinubu administration geared towards improving the lives of citizens of the country and making Nigeria a prosperous nation where every citizen will be proud of.
