Transfer: We’re ready to pay for Osimhen – European giant tell Galatasaray

By Henry Titus

Galatasaray’s hopes of keeping Victor Osimhen for another season have been tested after a major European club told the Turkish champions it is prepared to trigger a €120 million deal for the Nigeria striker this summer, according to Turkish transfer specialist Burhan Can Terzi.

Speaking to habersarikirmizi, Terzi said the unnamed European side has already informed Galatasaray officials of its intent and financial readiness. “A European club has informed Galatasaray officials that they are willing to pay a transfer fee of 120 million Euros for Osimhen,” Terzi was quoted as saying. “Galatasaray management did not provide a favorable response. Should Galatasaray approve negotiations, a formal offer will be submitted.”

The development comes at a delicate time for the Super Lig champions, who are determined to build on last season’s success rather than dismantle their squad. Despite the eye-watering bid, Galatasaray are reported to have shut down any immediate talks and made it clear they want to retain the 26-year-old forward.

Osimhen’s impact in Turkey was immediate and decisive. The Super Eagles star finished the campaign with 22 goals and eight assists in 33 matches across all competitions. His productivity was central to Galatasaray’s title defence, and his ability to score in tight games helped the Yellow-Reds hold off their domestic rivals. Those numbers have only intensified interest from Europe’s elite, with scouts present at Rams Park on several occasions during the run-in.

The striker has been linked with a host of clubs over the last 18 months. Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been mentioned in previous windows, and the most recent name to surface is Atletico Madrid. Spanish reports suggest Diego Simeone’s side are assessing attacking options in case Julian Alvarez departs amid growing interest from Barcelona. Atletico are said to view Osimhen as a direct replacement who offers pace, power and a proven goal record in competitive leagues.

Galatasaray, however, appear in no rush to cash in. Club officials see Osimhen as the focal point of their project to dominate Turkey and push deeper in European competitions next term. After reclaiming the Super Lig crown, the board’s priority is continuity, and selling their marquee striker would require a replacement of similar quality, a difficult task even with €120 million in hand.

Terzi’s update indicates the ball remains in Galatasaray’s court. The Turkish giants have acknowledged the approach but have not opened the door for formal negotiations. If that stance changes, a written offer is expected to follow quickly, given the European club’s stated willingness to meet the valuation without delay.

For Osimhen, the situation underlines his status as one of the most sought-after forwards on the continent. After rebuilding his reputation following his time in Italy, he has shown he can adapt, lead a line, and deliver when a title is on the line. Whether he stays in Istanbul or moves again, clubs are betting that his best years are still ahead.

With preseason preparations beginning soon, Galatasaray will hope to close the speculation and focus on strengthening around Osimhen. For now, the message from the European giant is clear: the money is ready. The response from Galatasaray is equally clear: the player is not for sale, at least not yet.
