When the Applause of Men Becomes the Regret of Eternity

NEW MERCIES DAILY!

DATE: Monday, August 25,2025

TITLE: When the Applause of Men Becomes the Regret of Eternity.

SCRIPTURE TEXT:
“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” — Matthew 16:26 (NKJV)

BY: Effiong Etok
Carrier of God’s Word

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
“The same hands that clap for you today may point at you in judgment tomorrow.”

MAIN MESSAGE

Beloved, the pain of eternity is not only hell’s fire — it is the haunting memory of wasted chances. Jesus asked a question that still shakes time: “What shall it profit a man?” In other words, what is the value of applause if it ends in eternal regret?

We celebrate men who rose by compromise —but heaven weeps. A promotion won through lies, a contract signed with bribes, a relationship built on deception — men clap, but angels mourn. What looks like honor in time can become shame in eternity.

Paul said, “The things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). Child of God, time will end, but eternity will not. Do not mortgage forever on the altar of a moment.

Imagine an actor who wins the crowd with his role, but when the play is over, he removes the costume and returns to chains backstage. That is what earthly applause without eternal approval looks like.

Quote 1: “Success is not what men clap for; success is what heaven records.”

Quote 2: “If eternity rejects you, time’s applause was only a trap.”

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, deliver me from every decision that secures men’s praise but loses heaven’s presence. In Jesus name.

2. Father, help me to weigh every step by the scale of eternity, not the noise of time.
In Jesus name. Amen.
