…drum support for Tinubu, Akpabio, others
By Titus Ekanem, Uyo
Ahead of next year’s general elections, the President of a Socio-political organization known as One Voice And Togetherness Initiative, Nationwide, Mr Clement Usen Eno and Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society, (AWCS) have called on Nigerians to support the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to emerge as President of Nigeria.
Speaking yesterday while addressing attendees at the pro-APC rally and voter’s sensitization programme in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the organizers described the former Lagos governor as a quintessential leader who has been tested and could be trusted.
“We are gathering here today to tell the world that the All Progressives Congress has a trusted Nigerian as its Presidential Candidate who has the capacity to take the country to the desired destination of prosperity”, President; One Voice And Togetherness Initiative, Nationwide, Clement said, noting that Tinubu’s achievements in Lagos were testimonials to be relied upon.
Speaking further, he said: “The problem of Nigeria has always been that of trusted leadership. Thankfully, we have a man who is tested and trusted. His name is His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Till today, no other governor, former or present has been able to surpass the achievements he recorded while serving two terms as Executive Governor of Lagos state from 1999 to 2003.
“He is renowned for transforming Lagos from where it used to be to one of the fastest growing cities in the world today. He is also renowned for turning boys to men. So, let’s tell Nigerians that we have a beautiful bride with sterling record of achievements in Lagos.
That’s the message we have for you today in Akwa Ibom State. That’s the message we preach across the country. Last week, we were in Delta state for this same message. Next week , we will be in Cross River State and Ebonyi state. And I’m happy to announce to you that Nigerians have embraced the APC because of our Principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Lets also support our governorship candidate, Obong Akanimo Udofia to emerge as governor of Akwa Ibom State. For those of us from Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, we have seen the sacrifice of our former governor and former Minister, His Excellency, Sen Godswill Obot Akpabio. He stepped down for our presidential candidate to emerge as presidential candidate today.
Obong Akpabio is known as uncommon transformer who transformed Akwa Ibom State and the youths. He has been a senator before. It will be a big plus for Akwa Ibom State to have a ranking senator in the national assembly. Let’s support him and all other candidates of the APC to emerge victorious”.
On her part, the State Coordinator of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society, AWCS, Dr. (Mrs) Theresa Edem called on the women to support the APC presidential candidate and other candidates of the party to win landslide.
She said: “The women will have an opportunity to have a listening First Lady if His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu becomes the President of Nigeria come 2023.
Don’t mind those talking about Muslim-Muslim ticket. They have no scorecard to campaign with that’s why they are relying on irrelevant propaganda. Let me tell the women here today that our incoming First Lady is a Christian married to a Muslim. If our incoming President hates Christianity, he would have forced his wife to change her faith.
So, because they know that His Excellency, Asiwaju Tinubu has unparalleled record of achievements, they now resort to blackmail. Don’t mind them. They have failed woefully and will continue to fail. Let us all continue to sensitize our women about the broom revolution. It’s the broom all the way. From presidency to governorship, to Senatorial, House of Representatives to House of Assembly, lets vote the broom, lets vote for APC for continuity and next level of prosperity”.
Other resource persons who spoke during the rally included Obong Ekerette Ubom, Hon. Rex Esitikot, Mrs. Comfort Ekpe as well as Senatorial District coordinators of the two organisations, amongst others.
