COMMUNIQUE OF THE RESOLUTIONS OF APC SOUTH-SOUTH STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING PASSED IN BENIN ON SATURDAY, THE 5TH DAY OF JULY, 2025
1. We commend the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his reforms and policies to reposition Nigeria.
2. We commend Mr. President for his uncommon love and support for the South-South Region, which is clearly reflected in the support for the emergence of a Senate President from the region in the person of Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON and the signing into law of the South-South Development Commission Act. We also take cognisance of the massive Developmental projects in the region, including, but not limited to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road.
3. We pass a Vote of Confidence on our Uncommon President of the Senate, His Excellency, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, for his astute leadership qualities, for uniting the South-South Region and for his support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.
4. We welcome the Governors, stakeholders and supporters of Delta and Akwa Ibom States for their patriotic and courageous decisions of embracing the Renewed Hope Agenda and joining the All Progressives Congress. We call on the remaining two non-APC Governors of the region, namely Governors of Bayelsa and Rivers States and their supporters to also join the progressive family in the APC.
5. We pass a Vote of Confidence on the four APC Governors of the South-South Region, namely H.E, Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, HE, Senator Bassey Otu of Cross Rivers State, HE Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and HE Senator Monday Okpebholo of Edo State.
6. We commend the Party in the South South Zone, ably led by Chief Victor Giadom for his purposeful leadership of the Party
7. We commend all the elected APC Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Heads of MDAs and political appointees from the South-South Region for their loyalty to the Party and patriotic support for the Renewed Hope Agenda. We also recognise and commend the FCT Minister who is a proud son of the South South Region, HE, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, for his continued support for Mr. President and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
8. We sincerely appreciate all elders, party leaders, stakeholders and supporters from the South South Region for their continued support and dedication to the Party.
9. We hereby unanimously ADOPT Mr. President, HE, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as our SOLE CANDIDATE FOR THE 2027 Presidential Election and fervently appeal to the electorate in the South South Region and Nigeria to support him.
10. We hereby unanimously ADOPT our APC Governors from the South-South Region as our SOLE GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES in their respective States in the 2027 gubernatorial elections and appeal to the electorate to vote massively for them in recognition of their outstanding performance and commitment to good governance
