…extols former governor, Udom Emmanuel

After twenty-five years of membership, popular broadcast journalist and President-at-large of Bush House Nigeria; Akparawa Michael Bush has announced his formal farewell to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom state.
Our paper learnt that Akparawa Bush who was recently screened and cleared by the Labour Party National Committee on Governorship Aspirant in Abuja, had earlier tendered his official resignation which he routed through the PDP Chairman in his Ward. The Uruan-born politician is seeking to govern Akwa Ibom state, come May 29, 2027 on the platform of the Labour Party.
In a ten-paragraph letter he personally signed and dated May, 27, 2026, the LP governorship hopeful thanked his former party which he noted prepared him for what he described as “… the big league”.
“Fellow Akwaibomights”, the statement said “good evening, and blessings. My Peoples Democratic Party journey was a fantastic chapter: that quarter of a century will remain evergreen”.
According to him “THE BIG SWITCH only happened because it had to, following one or two PDPish overlappings.
“In every sense, PDP prepared me for the big league and I shall forever remain thankful”.
Akparawa Michael Bush specifically appreciated the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and lauded his faithfulness to the PDP.
He continued: “Many thanks to everybody who helped my PDP journey, especially Mr Udom Emmanuel, our immediate past governor, who remains a recurring decimal-cum last man standing of that massive party.
“PDP also gave me great friends and opportunities and relationships: I shall forever treasure them.
“Not to instigate any debate, I think that the difference between PDP and Labour Party is the same difference between six and half a dozen.
“For example, if you did not know, LP prides itself as the home of/for SOCIAL DEMOCRATS -you see that?
“Final goodbye, Dear PDP and please be as nice as you have been hitherto, Dear LP.
“To round off, please permit me to wish our children as well as our Muslim brothers and sisters and residents a smashing holiday. God bless Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria!”
The youthful Labour Party governorship aspirant who is famous amongst grassroots politicians having had recently led a ‘Door-To-Door’ campaign movement involving 329 Ward leaders in the state, anchors his 2027 governorship pursuit on provision of 24-hour electricity, creation of jobs, human capital development, amongst others.
