The defection last week of the governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been discribed as a blessing to the State and its people.
This assertion was handed down by the President, Nsit Atai Progressives Forum (NPF), Mr. Idorenyin Atanguma in a goodwill message to the governor, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent.
“It is with all amount of sincerity of purpose that I, on behalf of the Executives and members of Nsit Atai Progressives Forum (NPF) welcome our dear governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Ph.D into our great Party, the All Progressives Congress, APC”, Atanguma’s message read, adding that the governor’s progressive movement would herald an unprecedented phase of development into the state.
While commending Gov Umo Eno for his numerous developmental strides in Akwa Ibom State, the former APC Councillorship candidate in Nsit Atai LGA also expressed his confidence that the governor’s entrant into the party would further strengthen its roots in the South-south geopolitical zone of the country.
He noted: “His Excellency has in the last two years, exhibited leadership capacity, uniting all indigenes and residents of the state across party lines. This rare leadership attribute has enhanced a peaceful atmosphere, thereby enabling the governor to deliver effectively the programmes and projects as enshrined in his ARISE Agenda.
His Excellency’s defection into the APC is a blessing to the State given that it would further enhance an unprecedented phase of development, as Akwa Ibom State would be fully connected to the center.
With Gov Umo Eno’s entrant into the APC, the party would be firmly rooted in the South-south geopolitical zone, thereby complementing the efforts of the Senate President, His Excellency, Distinguished Sen Godswill Obot Akpabio at the National Assembly towards the success of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the people”.
