The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, candidate for the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima, popularly known as OmoBarca, has charged residents of the constituency to begin the month of July with renewed hope, unity, and a shared commitment to progress.

In a goodwill message made available to newsmen on Tuesday by the OmoBarca Media Team, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent, the House of Representatives hopeful extended heartfelt New Month greetings to residents, traders, artisans, students, and families across Ajeromi-Ifelodun. He described July as a month of fresh possibilities that must be approached with optimism despite the economic and social pressures facing many households in Lagos and across Nigeria.

“To the good people of Ajeromi-Ifelodun, I say welcome to July. This new month comes with an opportunity to reset, to hope again, and to believe that better days are ahead for every family and business in our constituency,” OmoBarca stated in the release.

The candidate expressed deep gratitude to constituents for what he described as their “unwavering support, encouragement, and confidence” in his vision for a more prosperous, inclusive, and responsive federal representation. According to him, the level of engagement from grassroots communities has continued to strengthen his resolve to offer quality and people-focused leadership if elected.

Praying for divine intervention over the constituency, OmoBarca said he hopes July will usher in “renewed hope, divine protection, abundant blessings, good health, peace, and greater opportunities” for residents. He specifically mentioned small business owners, market men and women, young entrepreneurs, and students who, he noted, remain the engine room of Ajeromi-Ifelodun’s growth.

Against the backdrop of rising cost of living and infrastructure deficits in parts of the constituency, the NDC flagbearer urged residents to remain resilient and united. He argued that division and despair will not solve the challenges confronting the area, but rather collective effort, purposeful leadership, and genuine community partnership.

“Collective effort is the foundation for sustainable development. No government or representative can do it alone. We must build Ajeromi-Ifelodun together, with every community, every voice, and every hand on deck,” he said.

OmoBarca reaffirmed the key pillars of his campaign agenda, which he said remain unchanged as the 2027 election cycle draws closer. These include quality representation at the National Assembly, aggressive youth empowerment programmes, accelerated infrastructure development, improved access to healthcare, and policies that will strengthen public education across the federal constituency.

He further assured residents that his mandate, if given, will prioritize inclusivity. “I remain dedicated to building a constituency where every voice is heard, every community is valued, and every resident has the opportunity to thrive, irrespective of background or status,” he assured.

The former grassroots mobilizer concluded his message with prayers for peace and productivity throughout July. He also extended blessings to households in Ajeromi-Ifelodun, the entire Lagos State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Political observers note that OmoBarca’s message sets the tone for increased constituency engagement as parties begin to consolidate ahead of future elections. Ajeromi-Ifelodun, one of Lagos’ most densely populated federal constituencies, has continued to demand more attention to issues of urban renewal, youth unemployment, and healthcare access.
