…admits receiving N200b Monthly Allocation
…vows to Retain Grip on PDP Structure
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has issued a firm directive to all commissioners and political appointees to either defect with him to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or resign from their positions.
Speaking during the ongoing State Executive Council meeting, the Governor stated unequivocally that his decision to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was final.
“Anybody who claims he is not aware of my intention to leave PDP is still living in the 18th century,” he declared.
Governor Eno said his admiration for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership style has influenced his decision to align with the APC.
He was blunt with his appointees, stating: “Apart from elected officials like House of Assembly members and Local Government Chairmen, I have nothing to negotiate with you. Follow me or leave.”
The Governor also sent a strong warning to those who might consider staying back in the PDP to oppose him: “Let me tell you, anybody who believes when I leave PDP he will use the party structure to fight me is lying because I will still control the PDP structure.”
In a surprising admission, the Governor confirmed reports by in the media that he receives a monthly allocation of N200 billion. However, he expressed concern over the publication, noting that such reports could stir renewed interest from neighboring states .
