THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Crowns are not for the perfect-but for the people who kept walking with scars. Your wounds are not your weakness-they are your witness.
MAIN MESSAGE:
Beloved,
We’ve battled through the gates.
We’ve endured rejection, delay, betrayal, and silence.
But now we’ve arrived at the gate of glory-and here comes the final war:
Can you accept the crown, while your scars are still bleeding?
Because many of us are standing at open doors-but we cannot step in, not because of demons-but because of memory.
Yes, they said you’re next.
Yes, the prophecy is clear.
But when you look in the mirror, all you see is what you survived.
The rape.
The rejection.
The way you were disgraced.
The previous life.
The unpleasant background.
The failed marriage.
The child that died.
The low grade result you got .
The voice that told you, “God can’t use you anymore.”
And the scar…
The scar becomes louder than the oil.
The pain begins to argue with the promise.
And now the crown is before you-but shame stands in your way.
Ask Joseph.
He wore Pharaoh’s rob-but every time he saw his brothers, he remembered the pit. (Genesis 45:1–4)
Ask Mephibosheth.
He sat at the king’s tabl-but under the tablecloth, his legs were still broken. (2 Samuel 9:13)
Ask the Prodigal Son.
The Father kissed him, robed him, and called for a feast—
but the neighbors still whispered, “That’s the one who wasted everything.”
Because sometimes, it takes longer for your soul to come home than your body and people often remember where you fell longer than where God raised you.
Ask Jesus.
He rose in power-but kept the holes in His hands.
And when Thomas doubted, He didn’t cover them-He stretched them out. (John 20:27)
Because sometimes, the proof that you are the one God sent is not in how whole you look-but in what you survived.
Heaven doesn’t erase scars.
It gives crowns through them.
But Satan whispers:
“You’re not clean enough.”
“You failed last time.”
“You don’t pray like others.”
“Your past is too dirty.”
“You still cry at night.”
Have you noticed that many of the great men and women we celebrate today are people who carry deep scars?
Moses was a murderer. David was a broken king. Rahab had a stained reputation. Paul had blood on his hands. Yet God didn’t erase their past-He anointed them in spite of it.
Child of God, hear this cry from the altar:
Don’t let the scar speak louder than the crown.
Let May 2025 be the month you step over the shame-and put it under your feet.
Let the voice of your Redeemer silence the accusation of your memories.
Let the oil fall-not on the flawless-but on your broken, weeping, limping, yet chosen head.
TAKEAWAY STATEMENT.
If the Risen Christ still bore His scars and yet was exalted, then your scars cannot stop your coronation. This is your season to rise-wear the crown, walk through the gates, and let your pain prophesy your promotion.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. O Lord, please, grant me the grace to silence the voice of my scar! Every memory, guilt, or shame that argues with my crown.Like Mephibosheth, I come broken-but I will sit at the King’s table. I refuse to hide anymore. Crown me for Your glory, in Jesus Mighty name, Amen!
2. Father, this May 2025, let every chain of regret break. Let every echo of shame be silenced. Let my scars preach, let my wounds heal others, and let my crown sit where You’ve destined for me-in Jesus’ Mighty Name! Amen!
