…calls for replacement of ‘disloyal PAs’

A political stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress in Ibiono Ward 3, Ibiono Ibom local government area, Mr. Idorenyin Uyire has lauded the governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Ph.D over his ‘progressive movement’ into the APC.
Uyire’s commendation was part of a goodwill message he personally signed, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent.
Describing Gov Umo Eno’s defection into the APC as a bold and courageous step towards taking Akwa Ibom State to the center, Uyire also appealed for moves toward proper inclusion of members of the governor’s new party into his government.
Parts of the message read “…I wish to sincerely congratulate our dear governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Ph.D on this epochal progressive movement into our great Party, the All Progressives Congress, APC. It is indeed a bold and courageous step towards taking Akwa Ibom State to the center with a view to attracting more dividends of democracy to the State”.
On the inclusion of core APC members in government, Uyire noted: “Your Excellency, Sir, may I also use this medium to appeal that the core members of the APC should be coopted into your government in order to, not only benefit from the programmes of the ARISE Agenda of your administration, but also help in strengthening the structure of the party in Ibiono Ibom local government area.
While the resignation of one of your Honourable Commissioners is received in good faith, it would be a source of encouragement to see his replacement appointed from the core APC family in order to demonstrate the beginning of true inclusion.
Again, given that most of the Ward PAs (Personal Assistants) to the Governor were nominated by the immediate-past Commissioner, there’s every tendency for their loyalty to be in doubt. Therefore, it is politically expedient that the disloyal PAs are replaced with core members of the APC in Ibiono Ibom to further boost the morales of the party faithful. From all indications, these are the main wishes and requests of core members of the APC”.
Uyire who is also a timber merchant, while pledging his unalloyed support to the administration, also prayed for God’s guidance upon the governor.
