… pledges commitment to Gov Umo Eno’s re-election

The immediate past Secretary of Itu Local Government Council, Arise Ambassador and Progenitor of bo eno – a leading campaigner for Gov Umo Eno , Ambassador Emmanuel Ndon has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
While submitting his letter of resignation to the PDP Ward Chairman, East Itam 2, Ward 4, Itu LGA, Mr Emmanuel Denis in the presence of all members of the PDP Ward Executive, Amb. Ndon, a seasoned journalist cum branding expert noted that his decision to join APC is informed by the progressive movement of his Principal, His Excellency , Pastor Umo Eno, Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking during an emotion-laden meeting held at the PDP Ward secretariat in Uyo Itam, Itu LGA, Amb. Ndon urged members of the party who were willing to fellow him to APC not to do so, as the governor had advised PDP party executives to remain in the party to maintain the existing PDP structure , stressing that the governor is running a unity government.
Hear him “I have come today to tender my letter of resignation from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP . As your leader, my advice to you is to remain in your party , PDP, to maintain the structure of the party as advised by our Governor, But as members of bo eno, you’ll continue to work for the re-election of His Excellency , Pastor Umo Eno in 2027”
Speaking further, Amb Ndon hinted that, he was never a member of any political party until 2022 when he registered as a member of PDP to work for the electoral success of the governor. His resignation letter reads : “sequel to the decision of my Principal, His Excellency, Pastor Umo, Governor of Akwa Ibom State , to make the progressive movement a few weeks back, I write to inform you of my formal resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party . Recall that my membership of the party in the first instance was as a result of working to ensure his victory in 2023 elections , having been convinced of his sterling qualities to deliver on the mandate. His departure from the party therefore becomes compelling for me to follow suit. I want to thank you for all the support and cooperation you have given me up to this point and wish you the best. However, as members of bo enó , since good governance and our collective prosperity is the goal before us all, I enjoin all of you in the Ward Executive to continue to work towards the 2027 electoral success of our Governor.”
Ndon further stressed : “for emphasis, , let me repeat here that I was never a registered member of any political party before 2022. I became a member of PDP because of the governorship aspiration of Pastor Umo Eno.
But today, the progressive movement of my Principal, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno has necessitated my defection to APC . But let me reassure all members of the Ward Executive, who , incidentally are members of bo eno that we are still together. We will always be meeting under the platform of bo eno
Let me also assure you that as members of bo enó – a good governance advocacy group, whether you are in PDP or any other party, you’ll continue to work for the re-election of the Governor . With the sterling performance of His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, we all must work together to ensure his electoral victory in 2027”.
Receiving the resignation letter, the PDP Ward Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Denis , along with the Ward Secretary, Comrade Joseph Edim and all members of the Ward Exco expressed their gratitude to Amb Emmanuel Ndon for touching their lives positively.
The Ward Chairman, Hon Emmanuel Denis said “I am receiving this your resignation letter today, with mixed feelings. But we’re happy that all over you, we see you wearing the insignia of bo enó. That is our happiness that we’re still the followers of bo enó and so shall we continue till 2027 and beyond.
“As our Ward Leader, you have been a father to us and we believe that you will continue to remain our father . We pray God to continue to be with you even in the new party, (APC) you are going to”.
Others who spoke glowingly about their Ward Leader, Amb Ndon included, the Ward Secretary, Mr Joe Edim, PDP Ward Vice Chairman, Chapter officers , Emmanuel Okpo and John Offiong. Youth and Women Leaders ,amongst others.

Accompanied by hundreds of his supporters and members of bo eno from his ward , including bo eno Unit coordinators ,canvassers, ward and chapter Coordinators and members, who followed him to his new party, APC . Amb. Emmanuel Ndon was received into the All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Ward Chairman., Hon Mfon Martins in the presence of the Chapter Chairman of APC, Itu LGA, Hon Andem Andem, Members of the Ward Exco, APC Elders in the Ward , including, the former Leader of Itu Legislative Council, Hon Asenie George Inyang, Marvelous Ubon, Eton Atakpa, Apostle Offiong, among others. The colourful ceremony took place at the Uyo Itam Town Hall, East Itam 2, Ward 4, Itu LGA
Ndon said “I have decided today to join my Principal, His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno here in the All Progressives Congress.
“So, as a firm believer in, and core loyalist of the governor, I have come here to tender to you, my resignation letter from the PDP and to express my willingness to formally join the APC. I and of course, all my terming supporters and members of bo eno from the ward as you have seen here, have come to join forces with me to make the APC greater than what it was in East Itam 2, Ward 4.
We are happy to join you today believing that we all have a common goal of joining hands with the state governor to make Akwa Ibom State greater. Together, we will not only win elections, we will also help in bringing the dividends of democracy to Ward 4 in particular, and Itu Local Government Area in general”. In his response, the Ward Chairman, Mr Martins expressed his gratitude to Amb Ndon for joining the APC with members of bo enó. ” I’m happy to welcome you and your teeming supporters into the APC . Today this hall is filled with members of bo enó and your supporters. Indeed, we are proud to have you with us “.
Ambassador Ndon, Itu LGA Chapter Coordinator of bo eno, Hon Evang (Mrs ) Itoro Bassey Uduho and a host of other defectors were presented with the APC membership cards after fulfilling their registration formalities.
