Football enthusiasts in Nigeria have taken to social media platforms to lambast the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr. Ibrahim Musa over his comment on the two injured players of Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.
It would be recalled that a Super Eagles player, Ola Aina, had sustained injury in the course of playing during the last round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers for the national team.
Reacting to Aina’s comment after the injury, the NFF Chairman said it was not their responsibility to treat injured players and described his comment as ‘highly defamatory’.
“Its painful to us that two of our best players got injured but let me make it clear it’s not our full responsibility to treat them. They have a club where they signed.
We pay them for playing for our dear country. The statement of Ola Aina is highly defamatory to NFF integrity and we may not extend invitation to him again.
Even at that we wish him quick recovery”, Mr. Ibrahim Musa was quoted to have said during a live chat on NTA sport news.
Musa’s comment didn’t go down well with the Super Eagles’ fans.
