ILORIN — The family of Alhaji Jamiu Saliu of Abudu and the entire Abudu Community have expressed profound appreciation to the Kwara State Government, the Ilorin East Local Government and security agencies for the safe rescue of their three abducted children.
The children, identified as Soliu Abdulwasiu, Soliu Muhammed Jamiu and Soliu Amidat, were recently abducted in an incident that threw the community into anxiety.
In a statement issued on behalf of the family, the Soliu family of Abudu commended the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, and the Executive Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government, Amb. Mallam Garba Olayinka Lukman Agbelere, for their timely intervention and concerted efforts which contributed immensely to the rescue of the victims.
“The Family of Alhaji Jamiu Saliu of Abudu and the entire Abudu Community sincerely express their profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, and the Executive Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government, Amb. Mallam Garba Olayinka Lukman Agbelere, for their timely intervention and concerted efforts which contributed immensely to the safe rescue of their abducted children,” the statement said.
The family appreciated the commitment demonstrated by the State Government and Ilorin East Local Government throughout the period of the unfortunate incident, as well as their concern for the safety and wellbeing of the victims.
Following their rescue, the victims were immediately taken to the Primary Healthcare Centre, Okelele, where they received first aid and initial medical attention before being transferred to the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, where they are currently receiving adequate medical care, including attention at the Intensive Care Unit, courtesy of the Government.
The family also commended the various security agencies for their courage, professionalism, collaboration and dedication in ensuring the safe recovery of the victims.
According to the family, the collective efforts of the government and security agencies have once again demonstrated the importance of synergy between the Government, security agencies and the local community in the fight against insecurity.

The Family of Alhaji Jamiu Saliu and the entire Abudu Community said they remain deeply grateful to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Chairman Garba Olayinka Lukman Agbelere, the security agencies, healthcare personnel, community leaders and all individuals who offered prayers, support and assistance throughout the ordeal.
“We pray that Almighty Allah continues to protect the people of Kwara State, strengthen our security agencies, and grant the rescued victims complete and speedy recovery,” the family added.
