THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
“Birthdays are not milestones of survival; they are memorials of grace.”

MESSAGE
Life is deceitfully short. Every passing year is both a teacher and a thief. It gives lessons in moments but quietly steals time in silence. We celebrate “growth,” yet Heaven calls it “reduction.” You are not merely adding years; you are losing from the total divinely assigned to you.

Can we imagine how old we are now? Have we noticed that some of our friends, family, and even younger people are no longer here? Were they greater sinners than us? Perhaps not. Some prayed, planned, and thanked God on the very morning death came for them. Yet, here we are — breathing, moving, living.

The year that passed may have taken strength, zeal, peace, or even people you loved. But in all it took, it whispered lessons. Father, open our eyes to see what time has taken and what it tried to teach. Don’t let our laughter drown out Your warnings, in Jesus’ mighty name.

Life is not as long as it looks. You smiled at January, and now December stands at the door, asking, “What did you learn? What did you lose?” Holy Spirit, deliver us from the blindness of busyness; help us live with eternal focus, in Jesus’ mighty name.

Before you cut the cake, pause. Birthdays are not just milestones — they are memorials of mercy and mirrors of stewardship. The fool celebrates survival; the wise celebrate mercy with reflection. Lord, thank You for the breath we still have; teach us not to waste it. When our next birthday comes, let it find us wiser, purer, and more useful to Heaven.
In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
