…says price of fuel will reduce in 2-3 weeks time

The Managing Director (MD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL); Mr. Mele Kyari has disclosed that over forty eight percent (48%) of the subsidised Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol are used by the elites in Nigeria.
Kyari who made the disclosure today during a Media interview noted that while the poor majority of Nigerians continue to suffer, already wealthy ones were enjoying the fuel subsidy, which according to him was in trillions of naira.
Kyari said “Over 48% of petrol that leaves the depot goes to elite neighborhoods. The rest Of Nigeria subsidizes so that a small group of elites with convoys can maintain their lifestyle and oppress poor Nigerians”
The NNPCL boss who called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s resolve to remove the subsidy maintained further that the decision was in the best interest of Nigerians.
Mele Kyari who also gave some hints on the the solution to fuel scarcity in the country, revealed that President Tinubu had concluded plans to have one of the four refineries in Nigeria repaired and operating at optimal capacity before end of 2023.
The NNPCL boss during an interview with Arise TV News also revealed that Nigerians will likely see a downward adjustment in the price of fuel within two to three weeks.
