Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Akwa Ibom State Command on July 20, 2025, arrested a suspected cultist and vandal suspect who specializes in the vandalism of feeder transformers and public electric cables within Abak Local Government Area and its environs.
This was disclosed in Press Statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Akwa Ibom State Command, DSP Timfon John.
According to the Command, “At approximately 6:55PM, police operatives acting on actionable intelligence, proceeded to No. 80 School Road by Oku Abak in Abak LGA and apprehended one Pius Pius, a 40-year-old male.
“During interrogation, Mr. Pius confessed to being a member of the Iceland Confraternity, a group reportedly involved in the destruction of critical public infrastructure. A search of his room led to the recovery of the following items:
* A human skull
* One transformer step down insulator
* One circuit breaker
* One electric meter
* fuses”.
The statement added also that investigation into the matter was ongoing and that further developments will be communicated to the public as they unfold.
