MESSAGE TITLE: “The Witch Is Gone, But Her Voice Stayed Behind”

SCRIPTURE TEXT:
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” –2 Corinthians 10:5
BY: Dr. Effiong Etok
Carrier of God’s Word
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The altar is gone, the witch is dead-but her voice still edits your decisions, builds walls in your thinking, and turns freedom into a silent prison.
MAIN MESSAGE:
Beloved, yesterday we talked about a hard truth-sometimes, it’s not the witch holding you back, but your own mindset. But today, let’s go deeper: What if the witch is gone, but her voice is still speaking in your head?
Yes, demons can be cast out-but their suggestions can remain.
This is why, even after deliverance, many remain bound by fear, indecisiveness, confusion, low self-esteem, or unstable thinking, or a drifting heart that keeps forgetting God’s truth.
The problem is no longer the witch-it’s the memory she left behind.
You may have left the place of bondage, but if your thoughts still agree with it, you’re not truly free. You’re out of Egypt, but Egypt is still inside you.
2 Corinthians 10:5 shows us that the real battle is in the mind. We are commanded to destroy every idea, thought, or belief that goes against what God says. If your thoughts don’t obey Christ, they will eventually control you.
“Sometimes, the real tragedy is not that you were once attacked-but that you still think like someone under attack.” That’s what happened to Israel in Numbers 14. Pharaoh was dead, but they still acted like slaves.
A declining spirit doesn’t just fear witches-it fears growth. It resists new ideas, avoids unfamiliar paths, and shrinks from responsibility. To such a person, this resistance doesn’t always feel like disobedience. Sometimes, it sounds like logic:
“I’m not ready.”
“I’m satisfied where I am.”
“I just feel content for now.”
But what they call contentment is often a cover for inner resistance-a disguised refusal to stretch, rise, or obey the next instruction.
That’s not wisdom-it’s spiritual resistance.
In Matthew 25, the man with one talent didn’t lose it-he buried it. He didn’t trust his Master. His mindset trapped him, not demons. That’s what happens when fear takes root-you hide your gifts and call it safety.
Hear me: your biggest chains may not be spiritual-they may be mental.
You can pray, fast, and attend church, but if your mind is trained to say “no” to growth, you will keep missing what God is doing.
It’s not enough to silence the witch-you must tear down the belief system she left behind. If not, her voice will return-not as demons, but as your decisions.
CLOSING PRAYER POINTS:
1.O Lord, erase every satanic imprint and memory that keeps replaying defeat in my spirit, in Jesus’ Mighty Name!
2.O Lord, expose and destroy every hidden mindset that gives fear a seat in my life. Let every mental stronghold that tolerates stagnation or decline be scattered by Your fire, in Jesus’ Mighty Name!
3.Father, by Your mercy, confront every belief system in me that empowers fear, excuses failure, or protects comfort over growth. Let Your fire purge every mental altar of decline, in Jesus’ Mighty Name!
BOTTOMLINE:
You didn’t just inherit your grandmother’s prayer life-you may have inherited her declining spirit. Break it.
[Why does the same battle keep repeating? What if the curse was broken-but the cycle still lives because you are still speaking its language or not cancelling the invitation]?

We’ll uncover this mystery-tomorrow.
